the "We just want good stories" crowd is the one that's really getting to me.

The Mandalorian is fun. It's not ground breaking. The call outs and easter eggs to the entire original trilogy is insane. I've been enjoying it solely as a person who loves scifi/westerns and the Bounty Hunters.

Would it be different if the Armorer was the Mando? I'd like to think not, but honestly, I'd think they'd get a lot of flak for having the Armorer save Baby Yoda, b/c she's a female and she's soft. It wouldn't be "awesome" to them the way it was with the male Mando.

The talk about the lack of female characters is also obnoxious. More speaking character would be great, yes, and if more of them could be female, it'd be better. Especially in the Mandalorian parts. But a lot of the background characters might not have gender as we understand it so assigning them all "male" is rather disingenuous.
