I'm enjoying the Mandalorian. But it isn't as amazing as some fans are saying. And the way some are going on and on as if it has "saved Star Wars" and is better than any of the non-OT movies makes part of me want it to fail or end up really terrible. I hate those fans getting anything. They are what is ruining Star Wars, and they don't deserve to get anything they like.

Yeah, I can understand this. I'm really liking it so far. I'd probably give it a B+ or even an A-, which from me is a high grade because I'm a picky bitch. But I also really like TFA and TLJ, and if someone is going to use their enjoyment of The Mandalorian to hate on the new trilogy one. more. time. I really don't have the time of day for that shit.

Especially if that someone is a dude. Like, wow, I'm so shocked that you love this extremely masculine antihero and his (almost definitely male?) chosen/savior baby, but have been shitting yourself for years over how much you hate Rey and think she is the absolute worst character ever written. I'm sure your reasons are pure and zero percent biased by your gender, Mando's gender, or Rey's gender.

the "We just want good stories" crowd is the one that's really getting to me.

The Mandalorian is fun. It's not ground breaking. The call outs and easter eggs to the entire original trilogy is insane. I've been enjoying it solely as a person who loves scifi/westerns and the Bounty Hunters.

Would it be different if the Armorer was the Mando? I'd like to think not, but honestly, I'd think they'd get a lot of flak for having the Armorer save Baby Yoda, b/c she's a female and she's soft. It wouldn't be "awesome" to them the way it was with the male Mando.

The talk about the lack of female characters is also obnoxious. More speaking character would be great, yes, and if more of them could be female, it'd be better. Especially in the Mandalorian parts. But a lot of the background characters might not have gender as we understand it so assigning them all "male" is rather disingenuous.

It's good, but it's not amazing.
