I was disappointed too, though I was horrified someone had asked. If there's one sure way to make the writers start trying to create distance between the characters... Sigh.

I know it'll never happen in canon (though I wish it would BADLY), but I'm going to keep hoping that all those long meaningful stares, snarky comments and lectures on How Their Destinies Are Forever Intertwined continue. Because at least there will always be fandom, and fandom is always ready to ah, fill in the gaps of the show. >.> *cough*

I was thinking, maybe the person who asked that was a House fan and thought the outcome was going to be as good as this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UI6a7BHR36g), but didn't think about the fact that House (and the slashyness in it) has been going on for much longer and a question like that has a much more firm ground to stand on than Merlin. XD

Though if they pull a "House" with this show - 5 seasons (and counting) of heavy subtext which everyone, from writers to actors to various magazines, acknowledges, and the writers clearly do it on purpose (hell, they put House/Wilson as an option in a poll on the official site) - well, I most definitely won't be complaining *g*.

(sorry for the rambling, I'm relatively fresh in the fandom and well, you know, at the beginning you could just talk about it 24/7 XD x))

Oh gosh, I remember that. My Hugh Laurie love went up a few notches at that point. XD But yeah, House does have a lot more history of subtext than Merlin which is still in its new shiny stage. For all we know the slash subtext could totally fade from Merlin soon - though I reeeeally doubt it. That would require serious OOCness (and I would cry, seriously). I think it's also worth taking into account that Melrin is meant to appeal to younger viewers rather than, well. Us, I suppose! So the writers would probably be leery about encouraging anything that'd make mum and dad switch off the TV set.

And SERIOUSLY don't be sorry for the rambling. I'm absolutely head over heels for this show and I talk about it all. The. Time. My friends are starting to get the eyes glazed over look of people who are considering whether jumping in front of that bus might be a worthwhile alternative to listening me ramble about Merlin's cheekbones for the three hundredth time.

I suspect most of the writers for most of the shows nowadays know that slash fangirls are a huge target group XD. So putting in enough fanservice to get it under the parental radar, but still attract those who want to see the subtext is for the show's best, right? *grins* (And considering they got away with 1x04, I think we can dare to be optimistic XD.)

Heee, I managed to get my friend into it ... well, enough for me to be able to ramble to her without her life being in imminent danger XD. But thank goodness for the internet, seriously. I'm actually pleasantly surprised at the size of the fandom =D.

My friend who likes Merlin doesn't like slash or the character Merlin. :( As he's my favourite, this makes me kind of pouty and sad. And I hope the writers do continue the fanservice because oh em gee, that cannot be accidental. It can't, right?

Awww, that's too bad =/. And nope, definitely can't be accidental. You can't just accidentaly create a relationship like the one Arthur and Merlin have *nods*.

(Definitely don't mind! =D Though I've been kind of lazy with LJ lately, but I'm getting back there *g*. (Also, beware of an insane sports fan. Just sayin' ;D.))

Yeah, even in the first episode their chemistry just sizzled. Slash has been born from a lot (lot lot lot lot) less.

(Yay! Also, if you need to warn for sport fannishness then I definitely need to warn for too much babble about music and fashion. It may not be there yet, but it will be. ;) )
