Troll? I hope so. I don't even know the fandom, but I do know that being in or out of a relationship with whoever does not by itself make a character in or out of character. One's significant other is not a character trait!

Not the OP, but in this case the creators have specifically said that those two are meant to be together and would end up together in any alternate universe, so... yeah, it would be OOC to pair them with anyone else.

And I repeat: Significant other is not a character trait. So they would not be out of character based on this, though it might disregard a canon fact. As a lot of fanfic does.
