What author?

This is literally the opposite of what a secret is supposed to be.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-28 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
That's the secret, silly!

On all seriousness, complaining about someone else's secret is a dick move.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-28 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
What.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-28 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Why... not tell us the name? Maybe some of us speak your language, or at least we can keep it in mind in case he does get translated.

Can't wait to read...um...

This is not really a secret...? Just a missed opportunity at promoting the author's work?

Also, anon, I hate to say it, but English-speaking readers tend to avoid reading translated books unless they get really big or really critically acclaimed, so getting translated might do absolutely nothing for that author. Globalisation of culture is still mostly a one-way street.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-28 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
Well, they didn't specify English.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-28 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
Touche. Although when the secret is made in English and posted in an English-language space, I think its safe to assume that the secret-maker wants the author to be known in the dominat English-speaking sphere.

He could still get popular in other non-English speaking countries. A lot of translated non-English writers are popular in mine, especially a lot of Scandinavian ones.
