I'm the same with cat movies, honestly. I can watch some shows that don't involve sick or hurt cats. My Cat From Hell is still fun. But vet shows? Only ones I watch now are the two involving exotic animal vets so I know there won't be any cats.

I always have to check DoesTheDogDie for cats. When a cat shows up in a horror movie, I have to make sure it will survive the whole thing.

This is why I'll never watch a show or movie without checking https://www.doesthedogdie.com/ first.

I can't watch them either, and I'm not even a dog person. I've always had cats.

Same.

Also, I could never finish reading the book this movie is based on because of a scene early on where there is a visceral description of the dogs feasting on bologna and other canned meats etc. I think around the time I was probably reading Sinclair's the Jungle and it just made my stomach lurch.

I used to think I was immune to animals getting hurt in movies since I "KNEW" that the animal was safe... until I rage-quitted 911's pilot over them killing the snake that was suffocating her owner. I don't own snakes, up until three years ago they kind of terrified me... but now I can't see a poor stressed snake on a tv show.
