You think Disney changed Big Hero 6's characters races because "Asian not POC enough"? When Frozen is all actual white people? Make up your minds people, does Disney erase Asians while pandering racial diversity for woke points, or do they just hate diversity?

honestly, i don't know why you think those directives are mutually exclusive. manipulative capitalism isn't trying to be coherent.

but for your info, while Frozen 2 is still white people, Disney deliberately put out a statement that they worked with Sami, a group which is marginalized in Scandanavia, cultural sensitivity readers for the new movie and new characters who are clearly supposed to be fictional versions of Sami. So....

Butbutbut they're not BLACK so it can't be diversity!!!1

I haven't seen Frozen 2 and didn't know it did that. That's neat and does count as diversity. So nice words you put in my mouth.

The original Frozen came out closer to Big Hero 6 so I was comparing those two movies.

Uh there's a prominent black character in Frozen 2...

(Anonymous) 2019-12-02 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
That may be but I mostly remembered all this fuss being kicked up about the firs movie as well where it basically burned down to "but the took some inspirations from the Sami" etc. and American woke people either going "but they're not BLACK so they don't count" or trying to actually "prove" that the Sami are all dark skinned based on some old and badly lit black and white photographs.

Oh I agree. The tumblr outrage was ridiculous. And that absurd insistence that indigenous people cannot be white.

Frozen 2 has a black character in the main cast. And there's visibly more dark skin in the "crowd" shots.
