I absolutely agree! I've read fic where truly heinous villains were redeemed, they're so satisfying. And it's really not the same as woobyfying: to me, at least that's saying 'this character did bad things because of their tragic past and therefore no blame attaches', not 'this character did bad things because of their tragic past, if we put them in therapy maybe they'll learn better coping mechanisms and not be such a-holes'.

I get you but from the opposite direction. So much "but that's how it is in the comics/myths!" drama with the impending Loki series in the MCU and I'm sick of it. The big example being I truly don't think Kid Loki will work with MCU Loki. I know there are others really attached to the idea and that's fine but I equally have the right to say I don't think it would work.

I do read comics as well so if I want the comics version of anyone, that's what I read. And even that is a minefield of different personalities etc depending on the era.

I just don't get the Felicia Day hype tbh. She's cropped up in a few shows I watched and every time I just found her a bit cringey and annoying, which is helpful really because now if I see her in a cast list I can safely assume the episode will not be brilliant and set my expectations accordingly.

Agreed, Anon. I may be a little bummed at a really *bad* adaptation, because that makes it harder for me to lure people to experience the much better source material.

But...yeah. It's just another AU, and the source still lives, so yay!

YES!Co-signed, I have a playlist of songs that I associate with kickass anime AMVs for when I really need to buckle down at work. It works way better than random mood playlist that supposedly get you hyped.
