I posted that, my bad! I wasn't paying enough attention to what the post actually said, just saw people posting vid recommendations, and actually thought "Everyone is posting anime vids, we need some variety!" I feel like people don't use "AMV" consistently for anime fanvids only, though. Kind of like how "cosplay" used to be used only for dressing up as anime characters, and then morphed into a term for dressing up as any character from any media. The anime fandom term just becomes the generic term for the thing and not something anime-specific.
