Re: What are some recent uproars that you just don't get?

I think all that's really going on with the Peloton ad is that it's an incredibly, incredibly annoying ad. Slightly weird gender messaging but mostly just annoying and omnipresent. Anyone trying to ascribe more significance to it is probably reaching, imo.

But I also think that a commercial being annoying and weird and omnipresent is justification enough for an uproar. Fuck advertising, mostly.

I generally don't mind most advertising, but anything that you see a lot can easily get annoying. I don't really like some of the prescription drug advertising because it seems like they are trying to do an end run around medical professionals (I'm sure any doctor can tell you about a patient that insisted on a particular brand drug because they heard about it on TV, even though the doctor recommended a different one based on that patient and their history).

As for the rest, I kind of wish commercials would go back to nice jingles. I can sing jingles for products I never see. I'm very fond of the old jingles for Big Red, Sprite, Oreos, Oscar Meyer, Grant's Farm Bread, McDonald's, Coke, Diet Coke, and Slinky.
