Re: What are some recent uproars that you just don't get?

People find it funny that she acts like she's on this life changing odessey with this bike, but she looks exactly the same after a year on it. Had she recently recovered from a serious injury or illness and the bike was helping her get her strength back? Was she a skinny-but-super-unhealthy person and her doctor had given her a dire warning? Had she been unable to stick with anything she wanted to commit to? Who knows! The commercial just presents us with a woman who is just as slender and pretty before as after but acts like she experienced a dramatic change.

People find it funny that her husband buys her a piece of exercise equipment, apparently as a complete surprise, and there is no "Um, what are you trying to tell me here?" response. She then records her progress over the year for the apparent purpose of creating a montage video to show him the following Christmas. It's just such a weird dynamic.

People find it funny that she says she's nervous the first time she's about to take a spin class on the bike. Lady, it's a stationary bike in your house. What do you think could happen?

ALL OF THIS holy shit. Like it's not even slightly controversial, it's just a terrible storyline and I don't buy it for an instant. But I already hate Peloton for just being an exercise bike with Youtube for rich people so yanno.
