I think "bone his sister" was pretty clearly a bait and switch scenario. It started out looking like he wanted to do that, but his inner monologue showed eventually that he was really just super codependent on her in a nonsexual way (he literally says this, why would he lie in his inner monologue). And that it doesn't make his feelings about her healthy; just because they weren't incestuous.

Sorry I'm kinda sick of the "hurr hurr gross dude wanted to fuck his twin" takes that totally miss the point because people like being crass and edgy.

Technically, no one liked him either, and he didn't make it to the Grand Final. So my theory still stands.
