I have watched probably three episodes and just cannot get into the damn thing, despite all of my friends insisting that it's the BEST SHOW EVER!!!1 and SO DEEP2$2211 and not just a bunch of skinny mutants running around looking gay

Lol, it happens. I'm a Geassfag myself, but it's not a show for everyone.

If you're watching it for LOL DEEP, you're doin' it wrong. It's not supposed to say much about the nature of humanity or some shit, but it does have some wonderfully-written characters and relationships (in season one; R2 was fail). It's also hilariously FABULOUS (see secret #142) and full of hax at the level of HAHA OH WOW. Code Geass: where blowing up Mt. Fuji (twice!) is a legitimate and effective battle tactic, lawlz.

I wouldn't call the last episode "deep". It was, however, powerful in its presentation, which is surprising considering how R2 (and the last arc) was a massive ball of fail. It managed to stumble itself to an ending that somehow offered a satisfying ending for both the protagonist and antagonist's character arcs, though if you look a little deeper, there are still many unresolved issues. God, I hate R2. (If that wasn't apparent enough already.)

I don't know if by that you mean "like DN if [DN] hadn't started sucking" or "like DN, if only [CG] hadn't started sucking". To both I'm tempted to say "Death Note was never good". But then again, I like Code Geass, so lol to my opinion. Anyways, they sometimes have a similar feel, true, but saying "lol Code Geass is Death Note with robots" tends to get you lynched by the fandom. Everyone's so sensitive about it, lol.

To me, DN was EPIC SCRIBBLING set to EPIC MUSIC. (With bonus appearance by EPIC POTATO CHIP.) It was lulzy.

Ironically, I ~~find~~ found CG fandom to be one of the best I'd seen. Then the new season started, and the fandom took a massive dip in intelligence. It's okay; I hide off in my flist where the smart fans are.

Yes, the dormant volcano. Once in season one and another time in season two. Note that it doesn't erupt; the protagonist blows it up (or creates a landslide, whatever, same diff). It's his most reliable ally, lol.
