I am American. I didn't know there was an original Australian version until I looked further into it.
I really do hope you're not the type that judges people simply because they watch the remake of a particular series.
(ie Kath & Kim, The Office, ect)

Also I have no shame that I watch the American version.
That's not why I made the secret.
If it was, I would have put "I LOVE THIS SHOW even if it's an American remake). (:
I made it because it's a horrible guilty pleasure of mine to watch shows like this.
I have a thing for the show Reba too.
And the Cosby Show.
But if it was a good show with substance and plot(but was also an American remake) this would not be a secret.

When I have more time, I intend to try and find the Australian version.

Sorry - I don't usually judge remakes (for instance, I loved the American Queer as Folk way more than the UK one), but being a fan of the original Kath & Kim, the American one was just... painful. After the pilot aired here, I had to go watch a ~~noice~~ nice calming doco on the Galapagos to resist throwing something at the TV. It's just... a complete brutalisation in every way of the original series. In this case, the remake is definitely not good in comparison!

I guess it'd be okay just on its own. It's just that, in comparison, this is nothing like it. It misses the point in a lot of different ways.

Sorry about the snark :) I'd be extremely concerned if someone saw the Australian version and THEN saw this and liked it! But if you haven't seen the original, it's just another... show, I guess.

And do look up the original! It's ~~noice, it's different, it's unyusyuwal~~ a fair bit different to the remake, so you may not like it, but I think it's vastly superior ;)

The Cosby Show is not a guilty pleasure. It's just a pleasure. Even if it is a remake. :P
