Watching stupid things for favorite actors

(Anonymous) 2019-12-25 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I saw a trailer for Peter Rabbit 2 today. Never saw the first one and so didn't realize Domhnall Gleason was in it. I'm now going to watch it just for him. Because he's hot and I just like looking at him. I'm not even interested in this stupid movie.

Anyone else watch something you aren't remotely interested in just for that one (hot, skilled, etc.) actor?

Has he been in anything not good? Seems like the kind of actor who makes at least mostly good choices.

I hate to say this but the later House seasons were a train wreck, the Oranges was lousy and he does a lot of kids' movies which is a genre I mostly don't care for.

The Man in the Iron Mask has a lot of really good actors in it and though I enjoy it, it is kind of a terrible movie.

I liked Tomorrowland, but a lot of people didn't think much of it.

You've seen About Time, yes? Also he's fly af in the new Star Wars (they didn't plaster his hair down in this one lol).

OP

No, I haven't seen About Time. :adds to list:

I did see the new Star Wars, which is what re-woke my attraction for him. He's ridiculously hot in those movies.

Ayart

He's good in The Little Stranger too, it's a different look for him but it's soooooo good in it, he does that uptight-stick-up-the-ass thing so. well.

Yes.

I watched The Perfect Score, Push, and Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer for Chris Evans (though he was part of the reason I watched the first Fantastic Four, he wasn't all of it) - Push was decent, if a little slighter than it maybe should have been, the other two were not.

I watched Kingdom of Heaven and Elizabethtown for Orlando Bloom - they weren't terrible, but they weren't very good.

I watched Constantine, The Replacements, The Devil's Advocate, Chain Reaction, and Johnny Mnemonic for Keanu Reeves and yeah.

I’ve watched a lot of meh stuff for Robert Carlyle, but not even dragons and bonus Jeremy Irons could get me through Eragon. There’s also stuff of his that I can’t or won’t watch because it’s triggering (I got part of the way through I Know You Know before realizing exactly what was going on—my dad was schizophrenic and tried to kidnap me once so I noped out) or just upsetting (The Rise of Evil, Human Trafficking.)

Yeah. I love Adam Driver (dark hair, dark eyes, full lips, big nose, big thighs, big hands, a huge doofus, shit if that don't hit ALLLLL my sweet spots...so sue me) and sat through Frances Ha (Goddess help my ass) and most of Girls (I still haven't finished that one).

I've made it through most of Adam Driver's work and Frances Ha was okay. He's at least a big cutie in it. Have you listened to the his narration of the audiobook of The Theater of War by Bryan Doerries?

I went through a Sarah Michelle Gellar phase in my teens. I watched Simply Irresistable, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Harvard Man, Scooby-Doo, and The Grudge for her. It’s pretty sad that IKWYDLS is probably the best of the lot. It’s definitely sad that for a while I unironically liked Simply Irresistable. Mind you, I was like 15/16 at the time. I even bought the soundtrack lol.

I saw The Circle for John Boyega. The movie was a complete mess and his character was flatter than a crepe.
