You know, it's funny, I've found the same actor attractive in other things, but I find him REALLY ugly as Hux. So on the one hand, like... yeah, I get that he has features that can be sexy? I've liked his face before? But so many people who I've agreed with on faves in other fandoms are into this character and I'm just baffled.

I guess there's expanded materials where he's... interesting in any capacity? Like I'm trying to give people the benefit of the doubt here, but based on what I've seen just on the screen, I don't get it. I guess I find him marginally less boring and gross than kyle ron (another character played by an actor who's been my type in other things but holds negative appeal for me in the star wars), but we also see less of him.

(And it's not that I've got anything against villains? I've found villains in other things sexy and interesting before! But these villains leave me cold)

I thought he was attractive in (most of) TFA but not in TLJ (haven't and won't watch TRS anytime soon). I think it's the way his character was pushed past the "stuck up villain" line stright into "annoying caricature" with all the grimacing and OTT sneering and getting knocked around in TLJ. That diminished his attractiveness a lot for me.

He does have a fairly interesting backstory in other media though.

There seems to be a lot of stuff that would probably make more sense if you're invested in the expanded universe. That shit is kind of distracting because a lot of us just don't have any reference for why the minor characters are acting that way.
