... simple, really. Anduin needs to find a wife open to polyamory.

Signed,
a Wranduin shipper who hasn't had any fucks to give about WoW lore for a number of years now

Anduin shouldn't be the leader of the alliance period. Having him as the leader is like the irl politicians that send "thoughts and prayers" on twitter and don't do anything to fix the problem. Having a person in the WOW world with a more pacifist view on things is interesting, but having him as the leader is never going to go anywhere and just show him as an ineffective king. The alliance vs the horde war is never going to end because the game is continuous and the alliance vs the horde is part of the game brand and one of the game own mechanics. So unless wow is no longer profitable and they decide to shut it down the history and war is going to continue on and on and Anduin views are going to lead nowhere .

Agreed, so I assume that's why Battle for Azeroth made him all war-mongery. (Haven't played since Legion, so I'm not up on if he's still that way, but certainly early cinematics made it look like they were trashing his pacifist characterization. Did that change later?)

BfA ends with him forgiving the Horde, and forcing the Night Elves to sign the peace treaty against their will.

He's not that war-mongery compared to everyone else on both sides. He let Saurfang "escape" very early in the expansion because he had hope for the Horde.

Fully agree with what you just said.

Firstly, I disagree with making the Alliance leadership position restricted to humans only, that's infuriating to me, since I don't play a human and don't give a crap about "the human potential".

Secondly, dragons are shapeshifters. Nothing stops Wrathion from shapeshifting into a female human long enough to bear a kid.

... well, but aren't all the dragonflights sterile now thanks to that thing Thrall did a few expansions ago to defeat -- was it Deathwing?

I'm sure they can find a fix for that. That idea was silly to begin with.
