It wasn't on my radar to ship because it was so inconsistent in the first two movies. I liked their light/dark dichotomy thing but I knew Disney couldn't leave well enough alone with the legacy baby nonsense. Figured they were going to end up being cousins or secret siblings.

By the end of Rise I was feeling it, though. Adam Driver has a charisma that, once he stopped being an emo kid and swaggered through that corridor like "Ben Solo, Jedi Smartass," I suddenly wanted to see more. THEN of course they kill him. Effing JJ.
