I hope this attitude prevails over time.

My friend has a young trans daughter who is basically my niece since I don't have actual niblings. She was really into Harry Potter and we were all really looking forward to playing Wizards Unite together. That was around the time the first round of TERFness started happening and my friend and I both kind of left it up to her daughter to decide whether we wanted to be part of something associated with JKR. She ended up thinking that we shouldn't, but I think she still really likes the world and the characters, and I hope she gets to keep those childhood memories and cultural references as distinct from their author's shitty opinions.

...This is a thing? Yeesh, I had no idea.
If they're really serious about it I imagine they'll take the changes like how Judaism grew to become Christianity, and from there Mormonism. Or like any religion they're just going to invent new sects and ignore what they don't like.

There's a hilarious line in The Book Of Mormon where Elder Cunningham is trying to convert people by saying there's a part three to the story (the first two being Jewish and then Christian) and likens it to Return Of The Jedi.

I was really only a fan of the original myself, I watched what I could of 02, but I never got into it as much as I did the first one. I haven't even seen tri yet, but no doubt I'll be annoyed to see 02's characters pushed to the side.
