"Baby Yoda" is a fandom nickname because the baby has no name yet, and we know he is a member of Yoda's species. We don't know what that species is called, but there have been others in canon and the EU: a female named Yaddle in the prequels, and lots of big-eared multi-colored homies in Clone Wars, KOTOR, etc.

But no, Mandalorian is right after the original trilogy, Yoda is dead.
