I'm bracing myself for the flood of wank that will crash upon Star Trek-fandom when the TNG-fanboys realize Picard is nothing like TNG.

I suspect it'll be mostly the same as what happened with Discovery, IE, mostly people just saying that Orville is better because it copies the surface aesthetics of TNG, while I silently sit there hating my sworn enemy Seth MacFarlane

I'm extremely disconnected from the ST fandom, but I love Discovery and find The Orville boring, and I consider TNG my favorite Trek and have been watching it since it premiered when I was seven.
