I know you're getting slammed with comments but the things you talk about are exactly why I personally detransitioned. I realized that no amount of hormones or surgeries were actually going to relieve me of the issues causing my dysphoria.

People are quick to be dismissive of anyone who doesn't follow along with the transitioning script exactly to their liking--despite the general acceptance in the trans community that not everyone can or will medically transition--and I hate how conversations like this get shut down.

The part where they detransitioned is by no means the part that people are objecting to and its incredibly disingenuous to pretend otherwise

It's hard to discuss the medical issues too. Side effects and surgical complications or any unhappiness with the results of either are not welcome comments in the community.

I'm worried that people looking for information from people with lived experience are only seeing the best case scenario and are not prepared for what their own experiences might bring.

Very sad to see the young person protesting outside a doctor's office after suffering horrible complications from SRS in the UK recently.

Two of the five local group facilitators are non-op and a third just had surgery and has been open about difficulties with her recovery. So I'm deeply skeptical that newbies are pressured into fast-track surgery, or that issues with surgery are unmentionable.
