Oh, you misunderstand. I don't give a shit that I don't have any long term goals. I'm just tired of people asking me for them.
Sometimes they get quite aggressive too, as though me saying "my goal for this program is to complete the program and get the certification for it" is some terrible affront against them.

Yeah, see, that sounds like a major goal to me. Which you say you've routinely failed at for 10 years.

How about "my goal is to get through this class/term with passing grades"?
