These girls are EIGHT. Do you know what eight year olds talk about? Who has the cutest clothes and who is the cutest boy. 'Dating' at that age is sitting next to each other in the cafeteria during lunch. Little third-grade girls get giggly about holding hands at school and how that means they'll be together forever.

I don't care if there's any comparison between South Park and Kodomo no Jikan. I don't watch either show, I'm not interested in it, and I know that they're not real and can be whatever they want. Fiction does not equal reality, and children can be unrealistic in it. But don't you fucking dare talk like it's normal for living eight-year-olds to be like that. Because it's not.

And nobody DOES have sex in Kodomo No Jikan.

Jesus Christ. If it were about 8 year old BOYS having the same conversations, there would be no argument. Because boys will be boys, girls need to be protected. Yeah.

Wrong again. Boys at that age don't have those sort of conversations either. It's one of my big issues with South Park.

No, I wouldn't. I know about eight-year-olds, because I have an eight-year-old daughter.

What an eight year old child talks to her FRIENDS about in private will always be much more than she talks to her MOTHER about, obviously.

As a mother I also help out during parties and field trips for my daughter's class. Even if she doesn't talk to me about it, I still see these things.

I'm not defending either side here, just jumping in to laugh at your belief that you actually know what your child is thinking/talking about.

No one knows what their child talks about behind their backs. No one. Just accept it and move on.

They do know when you have snitches like mine are. There isn't much that happens with my kid that I don't eventually find out about unless its done outside the home and away from their siblings. Also, some kids can't keep their big mouths shut either. Us parents will find out one way or another. Things have their way of coming out.
