I am disappointed with the direction the show has taken. It's not Jodie. She is a delight as the new Doctor. It's the writing that just stinks. Everything feels so forced. Doctor Who has always had a positive message behind it without losing the good feelings and escapism. Now it feels like the show is trying to be "woke". The rates are dropping every episode and are at all time lows. Fans are going to end up blaming a woman Doctor on the show being cancelled if it happens.

I get exactly what you mean. I hope it doesn't come to that (and with the history of the show and the way media currently is, it's not like cancellation will stick, but still)

I think the writing has often very bad but I don't think it has any relationship in general to "wokeness" as a concept. It's bad because it's bad.
