I've only just watched the first episode, but I do think they're improving some. It's not great but so far it seems the writers are getting more comfortable with the characters. I was spoiled about the Master being in it, but his reveal was still pretty good, imo.

Yeah, I'm afraid they're going to kill off Graham since he's old, white, and his son will also be devastated by it. He's my absolute favourite, so I really don't want anything bad to happen to him!

I'd hate that. I fall in love with pairings all the time but it's always such a letdown when my interpretation of their relationship isn't shared by most of the fandom. Especially when it's popular, I'll get so excited seeing such a vast amount of fics, but then I can't even enjoy 95% of them due to how they're characterized.
