I don't get why people are so bent out of shape by it. He's the Tenth Doctor. Nine other people have played him.

It's not unrealistic to be unhappy about someone leaving.

Of course not -- I mean, my mother says she still misses "her" Doctor, and it's been a few decades since he left the show. But saying that it feels like a betrayal or a "punch in the gut" or that the show is ruined for you forever is... a bit much, when the fans knew going in that the actor playing the Doctor changes regularly and Tennant wouldn't be around forever.

Oh my God, yes! Old school Who is made of so much win. To be honest, I'll probably be more upset watching Troughton's final serial than watching Tennant's final episode. But still...there are a lot more Doctors out there to love.

I love the Third Doc and I positively love the Brig. Favorite "not-quite-companion" ever.

Definitely. The Third Doctor wouldn't be my favorite, but the more I watch of him, the more I like. Oh, the Brig. I'm so with you there. For not technically being a companion, he shows up an awful lot. :)

I still need to watch more Old School. Most of what I've seen is Third Doctor serials.

Totally understandable. I'd have a hard time watching Five regenerate again. Hell, it was rough the first time, and I'd only seen about two of his serials at that point.

Seriously. I don't like or watch DW at all, but I can't help but think the people getting uber-freakin'-butthurt over Tennant leaving just really do not get the point of the show or the character Tennan was playing.
