Are there any famous people you used to love or admire, and then they did something that disappointed you?

Brought to you by Tim Gunn endorsing bloomburg. I don't think this has made me completely stop loving him, but I'm really disappointed and thought he knew better.

I was actually just thinking about him this morning, how I'm really glad the Nostalgia Guy exists because NG->Nostalgia Chick->Current Lindsey Ellis, and I straight-up LOVE her work these last few years.

NAYRT - He exploited and abused a bunch of people who worked on/for/with Channel Awesome. If you search "change the channel" on youtube, you can find a bunch of videos on all the drama (avoid the ones over an hour, for your own sake). Also, a whole group of the people who got burned by Walker et al put together a document on all the shit that got pulled, lots of transcripts and dates and so forth, but I don't recall where to find it.

Can't think of anyone at the moment, so I'm just going to crash this thread to give an example of someone who I was worried might disappoint me but didn't (positivity for the win!)

I never doubted that Taylor Swift's politics were predominantly left-leaning (because I paid attention to her actions, which were very left-leaning), but I worried for a long time that she was pro-life. I'm a fan, and I knew it would really, really disappoint me if she turned out to be pro-life. So when she finally did straight up say, "Of course I'm pro-choice," I was so happy and relieved.

I think the idea of endorsing Bloomberg is just inherently funny to me for some reason, it just makes me laugh, even though I don't agree with Bloomberg at all.

Agreed on Louis CK (and looking back, honestly, some of his standup about his daughters seems creepy now...well, creepier). I do hope he makes a comeback, but let's just say I'd never want to be alone in a room with him.

I used to like Armie Hammer in TMFU until he starred in an oscar bait film where he played an ehebophile and supported some criminal director. I stopped liking him and avoid watching any of his movies since then.
