I don't think they had specific character plans but I do think they had overarching plot plans.

With thor not even that, they couldn't decide if they wanted Thor do be king or not. He went from wanting to be king (thor 1), to not caring (thor 2) to seeing as his responsibility (thor 3) to just giving up to another person (endgame)

I don't mean individual character plots, I mean the overarching MCU plot. That was the plan they had.

yup, basically. his character-path was never really consistent, even through his own movies, and the avengers movies just shoved him off to the side until the last Big Battle so he could come in and own shit.

it also made his character feel like a complete outsider of the OG core 6 avengers team as well, because he got next to no bonding moments with any of them since he was busy being shoved off elsewhere.

it's a shame because he's a fun character but he's been utilized so poorly.

I'm surprised they're praised for thinking ahead at all, since nothing that they did actually made sense.

They pretty much did that with every character. Massive characterization consistency fails all over the place.

MTE. I'm not a big MCU follower, but even then I always saw that Thor was out there in the outfield.
