It always seemed to me that the point of a setup like this, the erotic charge of it, is the imagination of the feeling of sexual supplication and vulnerability, rather than being primarily about the guy as an object of erotic desire. I don't know though.

I guess I get that. It is just weird to me that this is what makes up most fanart even made by male-attracted women. I'm just surprised there isn't more women making art about what they are attracted to.

I guess technically we can't know what was in the artists heads but I would bet all my money that "making art about what they were attracted to" is exactly what they were doing! That can have a lot of meanings!
