Right, I'm sure you believe that too. Joker isn't supposed to have a backstory, and most of the recent movies are just trying to profit off his popularity without actually understanding what his character is, or who he's meant to be.

You are aware that the most famous Joker story is his backstory right? And this was written decades ago?

And there are other stories like Going Sane which don’t rely on his backstory to make him sympathetic. So “he’s not supposed to have a backstory” is irrelevant.

A lot of people think he should be completely unexplainable and that giving him an origin takes away from him.
