107. I swear to Christ, if I see one more secret like this one I may go insane. IT IS HOW THE SHOW WORKS, get over it! How do you know the next guy won't be even better, anyway?

121. Wait, what? Are you for real? Shouldn't it be kind of obvious? argh KH fandom

137. That's adorable!... OMG ORIENTAL TRADING COMPANY HAHAHAHA

142. Call me. ;3

Actually, the zippers are double-sided. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/bucketmouse/NO9DemyxtheMelodiousNocturne2.jpg) Like a lot of really good winter coats.

109. I TOTALLY ship it! Sadly I haven't written any fic for Pushing Daisies yet, though...

124. Oh good Lord. XD Vic Mignogna has a girlfriend. He took her with him to NanDesuKan this year and was very doting on her the whole time.
(Besides, he's not NEARLY as crazy in person as people say he is, I swear. The fangirls are loopy, yes, but not him. He's very kind and outgoing.)
EDIT: Not saying that you can't ship them if you really WANT to, of course. XD; More just...the Vic in your secret isn't really what Vic is like in person, believe it or not. Just "fandom's view of Vic", which I generally find inaccurate and exaggerated.

133. Same here, I always wanted to be like the smart ones.

134. ...What about personality?

137. I blame pirates. Whenever I get them, I pretend I'm a pirate enjoying my booty.

141. I like a mix of stuff, but I definitely like things with a slice-of-life element, too! (My favorite genre is fantasy, though--but not shonen, more shoujo and seinen.) There's DEFINITELY fans of that stuff out there, though, you just have to know where to look! ^^ I suggest animenewsnetwork.com's forums--they've got strict grammar rules, but that filters out the younger "ZOMG NARUOTS!!!" fans and there's an older, more mature group of people that post there. Although some people consider it slightly biased against moe, so that might not be the best place--but it's a good place to start, anyway. (You could always try to find a community on LJ geared towards your favorite show, too, if you can find an active one.)

Also, I don't see any reason to have shame in liking Hamtaro. ^^ One of my closest friends loves that show, and she typically likes shounen shows like Trigun and One Piece.

Except you see that tassle at the top?

Honey, it zips both ways. [you'll find zippers like that on luggage. And backpacks. And some nice coats. and...]

(Otherwise please explains why they only manage to zip up to the mouth when the hood is on, but to the collar when the hood is off. Because. I sure can't, besides the entire coat riding up a few inches, and let me tell you the arm holes can't do that without the whole thing becoming bloody uncomfortable)

107. Couldn't you give the new Doctor a chance first? If you don't like him, don't force yourself to stay, but look at how many fans of past Doctors still love the show.
120. Maybe look for the stuff not explicitly marketed as "gay fiction"? There have to be lists somewhere of good fiction that happens to feature gay characters (if you like fantasy, try the series starting with Luck in the Shadows).
121. ...dude!
125. Heeeee.
126. Oh hell yes.
127. ...so maybe the commenter mocking people for caring about Prop 8 beause of yaoi had a point. Sigh.
131. I got into almost all of my fandoms though slash, man.
135. XDDD
137. Heeeeee.

Disclaimer: kinosino does not encourage nor condone this sort of behavior.

Double disclaimer: Fuck it, RP account.

131. HIDAN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! He can definitely do better. >:|

144. Well Mello was a major antagonist, which makes him a major character. As was Near, Mikami, and even L. The Japanese police (sans Daddy Yagami) were in the series longer than all of them; however, they weren't major antagonist, so they were minor characters. ): If it was up to me, the SPK (minus Near) would have been major characters. Halle, Stephen, and Anthony were more impressive than Near and Mikami...and definitely Matt.

144

(Anonymous) 2008-11-11 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, but surely they're major protagonists instead? They're the major good guys (pretty much the only good guys we get!)

103 Although it was years before this comic came out, this sort of philosophy is what kept me from committing suicide (well, it was more like, acknowledging my role and responsibility to society, but what's she's saying is essentially the same).

120 I feel the same way about gay cinema. It seems like there are few themes represented. InB4 someone lambasts me for being homophobic since the only gay movies I've liked have been about cross-dressers/transexuals.

129 Ugh. WORST COMIC BOOK ADAPTATION EVER. Sorry, but I was just too busy RAGING to even laugh at the ridiculousness of that trailer.

139 I swear I saw this one before. It seems like a very old repeat.

141 Even those I watched the first three shows pretty intensely (I gravitated more towards the original Dragonball, but whatever) none of the shows I watch now fit those genres.

Re: 120

[identity profile] trustyoursins.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a lesbian, and literally "gay cinema" and "gay novels" tend to depress me. I may just not have found good ones, but I've noticed that 99% of the time at least, if part of the main point of the story is that This Relationship Is Gay, by the end of the movie things end up very depressing. It's a huge WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS~~~~~~ syndrome of storytelling that's just... ugh. I just don't like that sort of thing. ):

142. That picture makes me wince. What the fuck, I don't know why! He just looks so sad and tired. I want to call "time out" and give him a book and make him hot chocolate before shackling him back into compromising positions.

Also, why not just "dom," why "fem-dom?"

111. That is the best reason ever. I will now forever think of Vampires. XD

136. I see what you mean. I'm sure there are some somewhere but the femslash and slash tones are very very not subtle. Only het pairing I think I could ship would be Merlin/Morgana.

Re: Merlin fandom (#'s 111, 136.) I love you.

[identity profile] kennedy-unknown.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
I would love to see Merlin/Morgana. There is so much scope for it, seeing they are both hiding their various forms of magic.

(Anonymous) 2008-11-11 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Wednesday is awesome, and I also think it's a great name. One time I even tried to figure out what a male version of the name would be for a fictional character, but I couldn't come up with anything.

146. CONGRATULATIONS! Rachel seems to be particularly helpful in de-confusing people's sexuality. Hell, she helped me accept that I was bisexual.

[identity profile] coral-amber.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
132: Eh I can like her books as long as I ignore the fact that she's trying to sodomize me with her philosophy(which I don't quite agree with) as I read. Hipsters seem to love it though. Personally, the thing that keeps me reading is the fact that her books are quite slashable. Which is ironic considering that she's rather homophobic.

120. God, agreed. Have you tried her other stuff? Fire from Heaven is also wonderful, especially if you were curious about Alexander. I don't really count it as "gay fiction", though, I count it as historical fiction with gay text to it, because I don't think it was written for "a gay male audience", but rather just a literate audience. I can't read fiction written for gay men, just like how I can't read a lot of action fiction or romance novels. "The market" wants something different than my emotional/setting kinks.
