It kind of sounds like you're under the impression that the makers of Borderlands are shallow af, and are concerned they don't value the actual talent, but the popularity? Which I suppose can be frustrating if you think about it long enough.

Hmm, that's probably it. Borderlands (as much as I do love their games) does have that specific style where I'm more tempted to believe they're doing it for shock value and laughs more than anything else.
