Re: A question about drinking....
(Anonymous) 2020-02-14 06:11 am (UTC)(link)My uncle is fine around other people drinking. He doesn't go to bars anymore, but he goes to weddings, restaurants, parties, work functions, etc. They have wine at their house. Wine was never his drink of choice, and it doesn't bother him if my aunt brings it out for company. He's been sober for a long ass time now.
It's such a common social thing that you can't avoid it entirely as an adult unless you seclude yourself like a hermit. You just avoid doing things that trigger you specifically, like my uncle avoids bars and the racetrack, and try to get on with your life as normal.
My aunt and uncle aren't big on PDA so idk about kissing, but you can smell it on people's breath if they're even talking to you. If you're still that shaky on your sobriety, it's probably a bad situation already.
Re: A question about drinking....
Really weird and wrong to me. Kinda mean, almost, or like - tempting fate.
