I still hate Daniel too, all these years later I'm still, "um how is that the same guy?"

It's not the same guy. Not exactly. Nowhere near it, in fact.

Just a question! Just because I'm curious, really. How can you actually hate a character who is literally like... a year or two old and in maybe a couple chapters of the canon? Certainly not enough to give any sort of look as to what things would be like once he settles in? I'm baffled, honestly. I understand the sadness and regret and the "HE'S NOT MY DREAM" to an extent, but... outright dislike and hate?

I agree. He's not Morpheus, he succeeds Morpheus. Appreciate him for that fact.

Haha, I don't even care if people especially like Daniel or appreciate him! I just... can't get how there is (and not from the OP or people agreeing, either) extreme dislike and hatred for a character who... up until his latter short-short time in the end of the series literally spend most of his time in the comics as an ickle baby. We just don't know anywhere near enough about him to feel that strong a dislike/hate for him! ;;

Hate is obviously a really strong word, and probably not the right one. Plus it's been way over 10 years here since I read it and probably just a little less time since I cared.

I don't have the books on hand to explain what I mean, as no doubt you'll know better then me. I'm sorry I don't have a proper answer for you because I can't give one with out the proper materials on hand to explain it.

Ah, yeah, I was hoping hate was just the wrong word -- I see a lot "OMG RABID HATE FOR THIS CHARACTER BLAAAARGH" thing, though (especially around here!), and it always worries me that people allow themselves to feel hatred and rage toward fictional people, so... XD

Thank you for responding -- I can totally get behind disliking the fact that Dream was replaced or disliking Daniel/feeling irritated because he's not the same. I can get feeling ripped off by it! It was just the phrasing confused me, especially since it's like "... what how can you dislike him THAT much he spent 99% of his time in the series as a baaaaaby kid D:" So... yes, thank you for responding, I just got totally confused. XD
