(Anonymous) 2020-02-19 01:57 am (UTC)(link)Like, I think it's reasonable for a character to, say, base their expectations of their partner on what their parents modeled for them, but that's more like 'my father respected my mother wanting to prioritize her career, so I won't wind up with a man who won't do the same for me', not like... 'Well of course my ideal spouse will have the same career/X physical trait as one of my parents'??
Luckily most of my fandoms haven't done that. But boy do I remember so much of it in Harry Potter.
