Oh god whenever there’s the ‘I cried while writing this’ I already know it’s going to be some overdramatic, boring story where it inspires mild tedium in me at best. I’ve cried once ever over a fic because it was genuinely heartbreaking, but done well, and the writer didn’t wax on about ‘how sad it was’, she just delivered the story and that was that. The rest of the time anyone professing this is tooting their own horn to an undeserving lvl.
