Hmmm. I don't know if I really buy that, but I would've liked to have that same trio feeling with Finn, Poe and Rey. I honestly thought that's where the franchise was going and was disappointed that this didn't really happen.

This is true for original fiction as well as fanfiction but... when it comes to popularity, it's often more about whether or not a story hits the right notes for the reader. Quality of writing is nice, but IME, many people either don't recognize it or don't view it as important as say, the right pairing, the right tropes... just in general scratching the right itch.

With all the new fans thanks to the show there's still hope you'll get the fic you want OP! The animosity between Yen and Dandelion is far less in the show and the screen versions of the characters would make a lovely threesome <3

I always have preferences with OTP's in my OT3's, I kinda love it when my preferred paring has better chemistry with each other than with the third member of the OT3. I'd think it's very hard to properly get the dynamic with three characters, especially when things get intimate. I can see how that could get very annoying however.

I know how you feel. I found myself with two minor celebs I feel that way about, and ended up shipping them. Oops. (They know each other, and I kind of found out about one through the other, so it's not completely out of left field.)

Love it! It's funny because the actual characters in fighting games have so much going for them in the way of personality and aesthetics, but hardly anything of quality when it comes to narratives and story arcs. I think it would be cool if more fighting games had unique interactions happen during actual fights between certain characters who have canonical rivalries. Would make match-up knowledge even more crucial! Even just unique lines of dialogue are interesting.
