I’m not a scientist, but (especially modern) cremains don’t contain any dna since the temps involved destroy it, and outside of bacteria, who can pick up useful genes from each other, organisms don’t inherit genes from things they consume.

My mom joked that she wanted to be composted, but I had her cremated because I had no money and no idea how to arrange an embalming and casket free burial, even if it was legal anywhere nearby. But even that would just be plant food, and not involve dna transfer. When you eat a salad, you don’t become part lettuce.

I think the other anon’s right about the ash being an okay nutrient source for plants. Bone meal (from animals, obviously) and wood ash and charcoal are all used as soil conditioners or plant food.
