2. It'll ruin him, fangirls will foam at the mouth ... yeah. I feel your pain. A lot.

4. Wow, that sucks. I prefer CloudxTifa and Aeris needs to be with Zack ... but yeah, that sucks. How ... insensative, though.

5. Ehm ... maybe you're a lesbian? Maybe?

8. That's the point, isn't it? Lol.

10. My most recent ex kind of got the same treatment. He was a 4chan troll and decided that he should join me on a nice little cosplaying adventure at Nekocon 9 this past November. After I found myself in full costume crouched on the floor drawing the designs on his Aizen coat with a marker while he bitched and belittled cosplay in general, I snapped. I think my friends were surprised I didn't stab him in the eye with the marker and he apparently failed to realize that when I was 'playfully' beating him with Wabisuke that I really wanted to be inflicting PAIN! He was right when he accused me of not caring if he lived or died after that weekend of hell.

13. Agreed. I usually play uke due to playing with people who just prefer seme, even though my uke tend to be aggressive.

14. Yes! Drives me crazy.

15. Thank you! Really. Thank you.

You spend more time at the computer with your weird internet friends than with me! They go or I go!

He went. :)

Hehe, exactly. He seriously ruined the weekend for me by being a whiny bitch. The rest of us are cool with just hanging at a con and running around and getting pictures and stuff, he ended up going back to the room to sleep on Saturday after I spent most of the early part of the day trying to get his costume together. He was helpless as far as cosplay was concerned and then wanted me to trim his hair because it was too long for Aizen.

I was seriously contemplating sneaking away that night and leaving him stranded there since he was supposed to come back home with me after the con. I ended up having to drive him five hours out of my way to take him to his sister's since his flight didn't leave until five days later.

I've since vowed against dating people who don't cosplay.

Different anon, and this doesn't have to do so much with the crappy-boyfriend thing as the cosplay thing, (even though I'd have totally dumped the ass right then and there too :[), but UGH. The frustration of having worked on cosplay for someone and then them ending up getting whiny and not using it? I SO know how that is.

At the usual con I go to, my friends and I were going as a group for a particular series, like we had the year before for another series, and one of my friends in the group (who isn't SO into anime as the rest of us but who comes anyway to hang out) had cosplayed a pretty popular character last con and gotten a lot of attention, (given he was in a matching group as well), so he was looking forward to this con. I made a costume for him (which took a LOT of time and energy and I was really proud of) and he showed his appreciation by bleaching his hair for the part, which was awesome.

The thing was, even though the character he was cosplaying is fairly well-known, that particular costume of that character isn't. (Since he (the friend) had wanted to go for a simpler costume that wouldn't take as much time, and I personally liked that costume better than the character's normal one, anyway.) SO. The first day of the con, we all go out as a group, but hardly anyone recognizes him, and we mostly get asked for photos because of my costume, which is the way-most-recognizable out of the bunch, I guess, and I have to do that thing where you're like "Oh, you want a photo of me? But don't you want a photo of THE GROUP as well?" XD;

When we get back to the hotel room? My friend gets all whiny over having done so much (getting his hair bleached while I MADE his costume and his girlfriend MADE his weapon-prop, right), and not getting enough attention, and he sort of didn't wear his costume much after that, but, OF COURSE, if he had, you know, WORN THE COSTUME MORE and STUCK WITH IT, he probably would have had people recognize him, but NO. HE WANTED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION AND IF HE DIDN'T GET IT, IT WASN'T WORTH IT. And he didn't really understand how much wearing the costume I made for him meant to me. :/

Sorry, kind of went on a rambly rant, but yeah. Bottom line = I feel your pain, even if it wasn't really the main point of your post. XD; (Plus, I've been wanting to get that off my chest, so sorry you had to be the one to hear it. x_x!)
