4: If you can forgive your best friend for this, you're a better person than me. If something that major and catastrophic had happened to me and a friend had used it as an excuse to make a cheap crack about shipping, that'd be the end of that friendship.

14: This could be my secret, except replace Jane Austen with Toni Morrison.

2. I completely understand. The Compilation hasn't pleased me at all thus far, and while it's exciting that Zack is getting so much attention, I get the feeling that if I ever do get to play the game (I don't own a PSP, so who knows who that's going to happen), I'll probably just decide to not accept it as canon and keep on loving Zack the way I always have - based on the game and nothing else.

That doesn't mean the rest of the FFVII fandom is going to do that, though, which probably shouldn't upset me as much as it does.

4. Why did you have unprotected sex? D:

5. At least this keeps people like you from breeding ♥

4. D:

6. Post-apocalyptic worlds are awesome. I always find 'em fascinating and just a load of fun. Who wants peace when you can have danger/destruction anyway? xD

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
5. LOL. Amen.

[identity profile] grayout.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't even NOTICE the names until you said something about 'em. *DIES* ....who's"shampoo"?

[identity profile] savant.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
04 » Not meaning to sound insensitive or anything, but why would you have unprotected sex in the first place? It's not like condoms are expensive or hard to use...

16 » Oh, Paradisa! ♥ What a crack-tastic game. Glad to see none of my characters are up there, but like [livejournal.com profile] sugartits said, while there are some incredibly OOC pups, some of those names shouldn't be on that list. :|

[identity profile] ex-kleinod.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Shampoo is very likely a character from Ranma 1/2.

[identity profile] grayout.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
*dies* Don't know anything about Ranma or Paradisa but wow... weird thing to name a character.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-11 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
What's wrong with 5?

(Anonymous) 2007-03-11 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
16. I'm in Paradisa, myself, and I disagree that it is 'most'. I think it is only a few. For example, most of the characters you named on that picture..are ones that stay pretty IC to me. Farfarello stays insane without turning into some yaoi-crazed softie, Governor Swann is..uh. Cracky. Rainbow Brite is Rainbow Brite, Lois Lane remains IC and as a character who wants to get right to the story, Gatts remains his rough-around-the-edges yet heart of gold self, Yuna and Vincent seem pretty IC to me, ....are you talking about ones you have not mentioned? I could name a few more that are sticking to being pretty damn in-character.

In fact, I like that the game does not revolve around pairings to keep it thriving, but instead focuses more on crazy plot happenings. Though, I admit, and I will not name any particular characters..that a few, as of recently, have been rather blatantly OOC for the sake of yaoi.

kgaekjgaletjget *dies* Japanese people are so racist

[identity profile] savant.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
What isn't?

(Anonymous) 2007-03-11 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Big Ranma fan here. How is Shampoo OOC? She challenges people to death matches, gives weird advice, etc. etc? Though I have not been watching her as closely. Why are those characters on that list while people like Kanda remain off of it?

[identity profile] eiviiaru.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's not like Ranma 1/2 is a show featuring realistic, sensitive characterization of its Japanese characters...

(Anonymous) 2007-03-11 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure, and now I'm afraid to say I agree in the face of comments like "at least you won't breed."

What's the difference between comparing real people to movie stars and comparing them to anime characters? People do the former a lot.

[identity profile] ex-kleinod.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh seriously. Cause poor sods who can't date because they keep comparing people to pieces of paper/cell are ok all the way 8D

[identity profile] grayout.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, you have a point. *dies*

(Anonymous) 2007-03-11 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you saying it's not okay to wait for someone to meet your standards to come along, no matter what those standards are?

The secret was a statement, not a whine. I have no problems with being the way I am. :)

[identity profile] ew-younerd.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Weep, weep! I am the Gatts player at Paradisa, and I am a HUGE FAN of the Lois Lane, there!! (The Shampoo and rainbow brite, too. D: Hell, I love the player!)

Was he on that list because he is OOC? I have been reading Berserk for over 5 years, and I'm pretty sure that post-eclipse as the black swordsman, he's no softie until he warms up to Schierke and co. in Volume 26 and 27, which is not where I pulled him from. I promise he's not prancing through flower fields or secretly lusting after every man in Paradisa or being unfaithful to Caska with Ino or converting to happy religions or anything. I try to keep him as the asshole he appears to be on the outside, and keep him as the softie he is on the inside. He hardly RPs with anyone so it's not like many people have gotten to know that side to him ANNNDD

WHATTTTT On the Lois Lane character!? I've been a fan of almost every canon incarnation of Lois Lane since the 80s, and I don't see how she is OOC.

And perhaps I don't pay too close of attention to Toph, but what is she doing OOC? I mean, there is blatant Zutara happening, and people are picking on Toph for being OOC? All I've seen her doing is being her reclusive self. perhaps she should be a bit more bossy..? I don't get it.

Yuugi and Naruto I cannot say much for. I mean, there are people compromising characterization for pairings in there and I see Lois LANE getting attacked? :''(

(Anonymous) 2007-03-11 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I am a big Berserk fan, but haven't watched Gatts closely other than from what I've seen posted in entries and RPs. Unless there are other RPs I am missing where Gatts is going around doing anything besides being destructive, immature, dickish, and brash on the outside, then..I am confused.

But I'm still incredibly confused on the Shampoo thing. I actually really love the Shampoo there. What is she doing wrong? She's very IC in Paradisa, albeit she doesn't have potions to work with or a Ranma to fight over, at the moment, so she seems perfectly in character.

It seems like the entire top half of characters listed are fine, while the bottom half are the ones I could say are OOC. But then again, if this person is not calling out a few characters there whom my friends and I blatantly laugh at for their horrible OOCness, then maybe they really don't know a thing or two about characterization, themselves.

[identity profile] ex-kleinod.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
If those standards are based on a bunch of lines on pieces of paper, oh hell yeah. That's exactly what I'm saying.

Well good for you, anonymous. I have no problems to pity such people, cause seriously, such people make me sadder than photos of abandoned little puppies in the rain or dead kittens something.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-11 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you tell me. What's the difference between comparing real people to movie stars and comparing them to anime characters? Or are those people all pathetic, too? Have you never compared someone to your favorite singer?

By the way, I don't do the comparisons with the physical looks, I do it with the personalities and characters. Therefore, your argument about lines on pieces of paper is irrelevant.

[identity profile] ew-younerd.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm going to OD on Valium now that someone doesn't like my Gatts, but isn't attacking ..other characters there that I know. :( My death will be their fault.

Let's see, UM.

1.) Being a dick to everyone.
(Check. Post-Eclipse behaviour;
re: telling theresia to cut herself and kill herself and meet her parents in hell;
re: telling jill similar things before finally being soft with her like, at the last minute
re: locking Caska up, dragging her around on a leash; etc.
re: ..every other thing ever. He only softened up toward right before the Eclipse, or has this person only watched the anime? that would explain a lot :( where Gatts' entire character is drastically changed)

2.) Threatening to blow up Paradisa/find a way out no matter what/not giving into fate
re: him every chance in canon he gets to shout how much he doesn't accept destiny and blah blah and go against all odds typical hero stuff

3.) Him killing a bunch of people
re: berserker armour

Other than that :( I kind of..really haven't done anything else with him? Except make him be semi-friendly but mistrusting of Griffith, and readily snapping on him as soon as he got all freaked out.

[identity profile] ex-kleinod.livejournal.com 2007-03-11 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
There's no difference as it's both hella ridiculous?!

No, I have not. Comparing real people to either fiction or totally unreachable stars (who could just be as fake as comic characters) really ain't my thing. Well, but then, maybe I did. When I was... 10 or something. Point given.

Is that the reason why you picked a pic with three standard anime-bishis with bedroom eyes, including a pink background with roses to point out their personalities? 8D Come on, that's fucking pathetic. Their "personalities" stay as fake as their appearance.
