I totally agree that characterization is subjective, especially given the circumstances surrounding Paradisa.

But, I honestly don't think it's fair for ANYONE to be attacked like this, you know? Attacking someone anonymously in a public forum is really mean, especially when some of these muns might be very young. Replying to the OP in defense of the characters listed by putting down OTHER characters instead? While your heart was in the right place, that's not cool either. That's just my opinion. &hearts

This is very true. I, for one, should have been more careful in my wordings. No one deserves or needs to be put down; everyone needed to be positive. I suppose you could say it's the nature of spontaneous argument to be pulling in other examples, and in the cases of many of the above, the OOC mentions are for specific reasons that don't hold up as to saying someone is OOC, let alone all the time. I don't know of any character from the fandoms I know well enough to concrit for who are blatantly OOC.

There's also the difference in how it feels. No one feels blatantly OOC all the time - so in my understanding, no one is OOC. Moments, yes; those happen in games, and I see them, but they don't bother me, and are also not my business to sporadically comment on. I should remember this more often. =)

&hearts You own up to it, though, so mad props to you. I don't think I've seen you say anything that's really mean here. Concrit is one thing, saying someone sucks is another. XD I definitely agree that everyone has an OOC moment or two, an off day, and you're right about not jumping them.

It happens to all of us! I know I've run my mouth when I shouldn't have. XD The important thing, I think, is to realize your actions and to own up to what you say, for better or worse. :)

&hearts TO YOU THOUGH!

PFFT. OWNING UP. In political speech, we call that covering your ass. ;D *just had to make that joke*

On a more serious note, it's all about owning your actions and words, even and especially those you are not proud of or rushed out. ESPECIALLY WHEN TIME WAS NEEDED FOR EXPLAINING THINGS. ♥

LMAO YOU WIN. XD

Yup! Totally agree. &hearts

♥ I WILL PICK UP MY TROPHY HUSBAND AT NINE.

♥ Yay. =) I'm glad.

16. No one is OOC to the point where I'm going to be a retarded RPer and whine that they are 'idiots' who don't 'deserve' a character, since a lot of characterization, especially changing the circumstances they are in, is subjective.

But I will say that the Lois Lane and the Gatts are freaking awesome. Farf sometimes goes off canon, but mostly stays IC. I love how you don't have Yachiru or the KH or D. Grayman gang up there, since they are the only ones OOC (aside from the rushed narusasu). I'm a huge Adventures of Lois and Clark fan, and I love how both of them are played. And Gatts? I suffer from having three older brothers, unfortunately, who have all been obsessed with Berserk from 1995. And while it isn't my favourite manga (not into the gore and rape), Gatts is basically spot-on and perfectly IC. I say this as someone who is perfectly caught up in the manga (and love the gatts and griffith there so much i've wanted to app as a berserk character). After the Sacrifice, Gatts remains very dark and brash and harsh on the outside, while being an emotional ball of angst on the inside. I haven't seen the player deviate from canon.

And I remember actually being impressed with Lois Lane. The RPer does her calm, collected, smart, sassy, and makes her value the truth above all, which is what she does. The Clark and Lois relationship is played out awesomely.

I haven't seen Vincent do anything OOC, either.

I am just laughing at how all of the worst players there weren't even attacked. The ones completely disregarding characterization in favour of stupid yaoi logs and recent posts. You seem like a h8r ;-)

---------

^ Where did I name any names?

I already have spoken to the Kanda RPer, so if you believe I was implying them, I never meant to offend them and apologized. Otherwise, I did not single out a soul.

I actually wasn't referring to anyone specifically at all. :) I don't think you meant to offend anyone, but you did criticize others in your defense*. I didn't necessarily mean naming names; I just don't think it's fair to put down others anonymously in a comm like this in general. That's all I meant. Love and peace and tree hugging? Though I guess I am singling you out when others have done it, too. DX Sorry, that wasn't my intention either. &hearts

Don't worry, I'm not offended. And I apologize for the latter statement (I did not say the first one). I should not be spreading more negativity when there already is some still lurking, I just can't believe people are persistent with this stuff.

Thank you for pointing that out, though.

Er, -_-; I thought you were quoting another statement on the first one about Yachiru (one a page back). Never mind, hah. I did say that one. And I retract it. I was just grumpy and being foolish.

It's cool; yay for positivity! :D I totally understand; the OP upset me, too. I think it kind of took everyone aback, especially since things were relatively calm before. Hopefully we can move on with the fun and not so much with the drama. XD
