The Noble Savage vibe I got off it bothered me too, and it's based on this rabidly pro-life book (which, thankfully, the movie watered down a lot -- still, that premise bothers the fuck out of me).

101. I was like that when I left the HP fandom after book 6 came out because I was so disillusioned. In fact, I was pretty depressed in general for a few years because I was fandomless. Then last year a friend got me into Supernatural, which is another pool of crazy. I love them, but damn. Anyway, my point is I totally know how you feel, OP.
