If the book is good then why should it matter if everyone is pared off like that in the end? I mean I get it, but I've seen a lot of people going on about how a book is ruined for them simply because the romances are het lately. Not to say that this is what you're doing OP, but it's just strange to me to be disappointed by something that's basically the norm.
