Someone in my county (in the middle of freakin' redneck MO) was in China and is now 'being monitored' for symptoms of Corvid-19.

Chief and the Battalion Chiefs and other 1st responders/community leaders had a meeting about the virus this morning with SEMA. Fun times!

Of course, Chief wandered around the rest of the day going 'we're all going to diiiiiiiiiiie'. *snerk*

No, we (and I) aren't particularly worried about it.

I enjoyed the fun headline that apparently the Trump admin HHS sent people to Travis AFB to deal with people being quarantined without training them or giving them adequate protective gear (and told them they were poor team players and threatened to punish them for speaking out about it). Also, completely separately, the first apparent case of community transmission in the United States was just identified in Solano County, which completely coincidentally happens to be where Travis AFB is located.

Fun times! I mean, I don't want to worry, but if this is how the response I'd going to be organized, I am slightly concerned.

Northern Cali, coworker's roommate (a nurse) is being quarantined. Space ops has been disinfecting everything all day and encouraging mask use but aside from that not much we can do and no one really wants to wear a mask indoors all day...

Obviously I don't feel great about it, but I'm more worried about the old folk I live with. I don't want them to blame me as if I had a choice if I bring back anything, ffs.

Funniest part here (or not really at all, sorry US of A) is that Pence of all people is now in charge of the virus control, which will probably soon consist of praying the virus away.

I hadn’t heard of anyone in MO, but I’m not worried regardless. I work for a hospital, so I’ll be worried when THEY tell me to be worried. The docs are such profit bitches that if they feel they need to take profit reducing action then shit is real. XD

Epic, well-written Space Opera, something really grand, like The Expanse or C J Cherryh's Alliance/Union 'verse.

More seriously, I just don't have the ability to write tech-noir but I come up with ideas related to it all the time and it's annoying looking at all the fic bunnies and knowing they won't grow up.

I also really enjoy reading stories where the main pairing have a legitimate argument (not random misunderstandings...) or major difference in opinions. Obviously I want them to overcome it in the end, but I'm also picky in that it can't be just a lengthy good adult conversation. No, I want them to ~prove it with action~ (don't ask me how). I can neither stand tension nor converse like an adult normally, and writing stuff this feels like it would bore me somehow, but I love reading things like that.

more porn to my specific tastes, and i do actually write my own, but sometimes i'd like someone else to write it yanno? a different voice and what not.

and in general more character introspection stuff about my faves, i'm just not very good at that, or i try to write it and it comes out clunky and off.

Really long rewrite of canon fics that I just don't have the patience for writing but really want to read.

Anything in my main too-small fandom for the main characters and the few pairings I won't think of myself, for the few chararacters I don't like, for the pairings I don't care enough for--I'll write the rest, I'll do my best, but I can't do everything and I want all the characters, all the pairings to get a chance to get content (and yes, f they existed I'd read the fics about the characters and pairings I don't even like, just because they would exist--please please please make this fandom exist)

I like to think it was her way of saying I'd be okay, but I'm not okay right now.
