The thing that took me by surprise is apparently there were people expecting Bucky/Steve to become canon and this outcome gravely disappointed them. Like it would be awesome if we got some more good lgbtqa+ rep in a scifi or fantasy movie, but honestly I highly doubt that its going to come from Marvel let alone Disney.

I think a good chunk of the shippers just wanted them to exist together at the same time for once after all they’d gone through, so I can understand the disappointment from that end even if I wasn’t really surprised by Steve’s arc in the movies.

But the ones who fully expected the MCU to actually go there... yeah they were always barking up the wrong tree and their continued shit fits over it are beyond annoying. You didn’t get what you wanted, move on.
