(Anonymous) 2020-03-12 03:55 am (UTC)(link)As for rape I would say that it's a series about sex workers, and that's a topic that's unavoidable. Harlots actually explores the effects of rape in a sensitive, understanding manner and never employs in a cheap way.
I'd like to add that on set unlike on just about every single other show with female actors, any sex scenes are shot in a safe environment, and if the actress feels uncomfortable in any way while shooting, the crew will stop immediately and try to find an alternative to what was planned.
