(Anonymous) 2020-03-12 05:36 am (UTC)(link)Yep, your sentiments about Warren and Bernie are mine as well. I agree with your whole post in general. I just cannot do four more years of the insanity that is the Trump administration. I really can't.
And I feel like that's where a good portion of the country is as well. I think they're just exhausted with Trump and his antics, and current events are just further exposing how utterly inept he and his administration are. I really do feel like a lot of people are desperate for a change and a return to some kind of normalcy and calm, and that seems to be what they think Biden can bring. He's a familiar presence, he's somebody who's been in the White House already*, so they'll take it, even if he's not most people's ideal candidate. Almost like he can be a stepping stone to get us somewhat stable again, and then as time goes on we can start working to push forward with the more liberal stuff from there.
*That is one rather amusing element of Biden being the likely nominee. Trump ran and won on talking about how shitty the Obama administration was (and, of course, capitalized on the racism among those who couldn't stand that we had a black president for eight years), only for people to ultimately decide four years later that no, they're pretty okay with bringing back some element of that administration because Trump reminded them just how much better the previous administration actually was :p.
