My current fandom has a canonically asexual character (who is also aromantic and clearly sex-repulsed, but fic are gonna fic about those and I grudgingly accept it. ...While writing my own epic shipfics where I keep him true to all of that and still have them be shipfics - admittedly half out of pure spite, with both of my middle fingers up) and I have to put up with seeing this shit with basically two thirds of the fics that get published. He's the fandom bicycle, despite being aroace, and while I understand why I still hate it.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-21 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)I'm not a huge fan of Hazbin but as an asexual, I can't help but feel a bit pissed off that a large portion of people are doing this to a canonically Ace character.
Like I get it, fic exists so that we can play with these characters however we like. But I can't help but feel like his sexuality would be more respected a bit more if Vivziepop had written him as a gay man.
