Yes, it goes on two fingers (it's a design that goes back to ancient Roman times but has seen renewed popularity with the advent of hip hop style) and I wear mine on my ring and middle fingers. No specific purpose that I know of, I just love rings and like the look of this one: it's simple and elegant, an ancient design but with a modern, sleek look. It's not uncomfortable to wear; I've worn it all day and forgot I had it on (the band is slim). And you could probably wear it all the time, like any other ring, but I take my jewelry off before bed/showering/working out. :)
